WHAT IS AEROGEL?
Aerogels are highly porous solids, usually made of amorphous silica, with over 90 percent of their volume consisting of air-filled pores. These tiny pores drastically reduce the transfer of energy that occurs through the movement of air molecules. This makes aerogels one of the most efficient insulating materials. One litre of this material weighs only 70 to 100 grams, making it ten times lighter than water.-

ADVANTAGES

FLEXIBLE
External thermal insulation composite systems (ETICS) are not only rigid boards in a block-like pattern. By building up several layers of flexible fleece, aerogel can be applied to a façade like a second skin – practical like a board, flexible like a fleece.
HIGHLY EFFICIENT
With aerogel, it is finally possible to achieve the required or desired insulation values even with extremely thin layers. Spatial and visual impairments can thus be reduced to an absolute minimum.
SOUND INSULATION
Thanks to its fine and tiny pore structure, aerogel also acts as a highly effective sound absorber, significantly reducing noise levels. In this way, aerogel complements its high insulating and water-repellent properties with effective sound insulation.
FIRE PROTECTION
Aerogel easily exceeds all requirements of the relevant building and material classes. This means that fire protection specifications can be met even where conventional insulation solutions would require compromises in planning and execution.
VAPOUR-PERMEABLE
Water-repellent, yet vapour-permeable. Water vapour and moisture can pass through the aerogel without any problem. At the same time, even the smallest water droplets have no chance of penetrating or adhering and reducing the insulation performance.
HYDROPHOBIC
No moisture absorption and therefore no deterioration of insulation properties due to moisture. This water-repellent property also ensures a certain degree of long-term durability.EFFICIENCY

AEROGEL RETURN CALCULATOR FOR NEW BUILDINGS

Our calculation tool is a specially developed calculator for insulation technology.
Silica aerogels insulate two to three times better than conventional insulating materials. This means a thinner insulation layer (10 cm vs. 25 cm) is sufficient. This results in significant space savings, which benefit your living, working, or usable area. With our simple online calculation tool, you can easily determine your space gain and generate a cost overview.
