The first few centimetres of insulation are the most efficient, especially with high-performance insulation materials. With just 3 cm of aerogel insulation, the U-value of an uninsulated wall can be reduced by around 70 %. This allows old buildings and traditionally historic structures to be thermally renovated without losing the building’s character. The Aerogel ETICS (external thermal insulation composite system) boards have been further developed so that their handling and application are largely comparable to those of conventional mineral insulation boards.
APPLICATION – RENDERED EXTERNAL THERMAL INSULATION
Our Aerogel external thermal insulation composite system (ETICS) makes it possible to use ETICS even where space, structural, or aesthetic constraints previously prevented it. In combination with the AERO A2 ETICS insulation board, it also meets the highest fire protection requirements in situations where conventional solutions require compromises in planning and execution. Because it is non-combustible (reaction to fire A2-s1), it is now possible for the first time to carry out energy renovations on buildings with a ridge height of over 11 metres from ground level without the need for fire barriers.

The AGITEC Aerogel high-performance thermal insulating render offers new possibilities for the construction trade. Its field of application lies in the energy-efficient renovation of old buildings and the thermal insulation of historic structures. This means that even listed buildings can be optimised in terms of energy consumption in consultation with heritage preservation authorities. Thanks to its mineral composition and high vapour permeability, mould growth can be prevented and living comfort increased.

Its field of application lies in the energy-efficient renovation of old buildings and the thermal insulation of historic structures. Aerogel high-performance insulating render is primarily used for façade renovations. This means that even listed buildings can be optimised in terms of energy consumption in consultation with heritage preservation authorities.
Even on particularly uneven substrates, such as rubble masonry, irregularities can be evened out without the need for a levelling layer. When lining winding staircases and arches, cutting insulation boards is a tedious task. An internal insulation using insulating render can be applied much more quickly. Thanks to its mineral composition and high vapour permeability, mould growth can be prevented and living comfort increased.
